Meet Dr. Thomas Herremans
Thomas Herremans, DDS, MS
It is hard to explain how incredibly rewarding it is to transform a person's bite into a stunning, healthy smile. I get such a great sense of satisfaction watching a patient transform into a self-confident, proud individual.
Education and Continuing Education
For my orthodontic education, I first attended Western Michigan University, where I attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences. I then graduated from the University of Michigan with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1996. Afterwards, I went on to the University of Michigan, where I earned a Masters in public health in 1997. Finally, I attained my MS in Orthodontics from St. Louis University in 2000.
Our whole practice takes many hours of continuing education classes each year. This allows us to remain current in the latest techniques to give our patients the most up to date, efficient, and comfortable treatment possible. Our patients are our highest priority, and in order to always provide them with the highest quality treatments, we must stay current with the best methods and technology available.
In the Practice
Working with all different types of kids and adults makes my job fun. It is great to see them excited to get their braces on. I love to hear what they have been up to as we get to know them. They really understand how important it is to have a healthy smile.
We want our patients to have a fun, positive experience while we straighten their teeth. We like to have fun at the office and work hard to make our patients as comfortable as possible. We do a variety of contests throughout the year where patients can win prizes. We also have fun weeks during the summer where we dress up and decorate the office.
I have the greatest staff in the world! They really care about our patients and take great care of them. They are highly trained and remain current with the newest orthodontic treatments by attending annual conventions with the doctor. They work very hard to keep things running efficiently. We pride ourselves on running on time, and our patients very rarely have to wait to be seen.
Family Life
I was born and raised in Western Michigan, and my wife and I were in the 100th class to graduate from Rockford High School! We still live in Rockford, where we are close to family and friends we love. I married my high school sweetheart, Laurie, in 1992. Our son, Jacob, and our daughter, Hope, are two of my favorite people in the world. In my spare time, my favorite activity is downhill skiing. I love any outdoor activity, including hiking, biking, kayaking and golf. I love to watch my kids play sports and traveling with my family.
Our office supports many community charities and school events throughout the year. We have been very involved with the fight against cancer through the Rockford Relay For Life, and Muscular Distrophy with Mitchell's Run.
